1st and 2nd of January, 2022.

It is the first day of the year 2022. I am in Bulgaria. And I cannot believe in how warm it is today. The weather is gorgeous: blue sky, some sparse clouds, and the temperature it is perfect. Perfect to sit outside and enjoy the first hours of this new year. Well, it is pass midday already, but still.
The reason why I am already writing is because last night, my “luck” from the Banitsa, it was saying that I will have a lazy year. No way! Please, don’t. Explaining: my life is about travelling and writing, right? So that is why I am writing something already. Even though if it is not a full text, but something. Tomorrow I will start to travel around Bulgaria too. So no laziness! At least not until I can avoid it. This is my attempt to not be lazy this year: writing from the very first day.
I am at K. and N.’s friends Villa, in the middle of Bulgaria. There are about 14 people in the house, mostly couples, and than me and M., K.’s youngest sister.
Last night it was hard! I mean, at least for them. I party a little bit, not drink too much, but I dance quite a lot. Unfortunately the people responsible for the playlist were not very into which songs are for dancing and which are not.
I am told that they have a “theme” for tonight and it will be “prom night”. So all the ladies will be wearing fancy dresses and the guys suits. I am not that much into at the beginning but afterwards I actually think it is cool. Funny fact is that my dress it turns out to be the exact same color of my dress on my prom: purple. And I went to bed considerably late. At least to my standards. Sometime after 3 a.m. This morning I have heard the party it was actually over at 8 a.m. Mostly I had fun. I played some board games and I talked with a lot of people, so I didn’t really feel left out.
It is a cute little village where we are: Ivan Vazovo, named after the most famous Bulgarian writer. The building is an old school but all restored. It looks awesome but fancy. Yesterday we went for a walk around and observing the houses and life style of the village people, we had a conversation about how people are living in the big cities, what motivates people to live there (and here) and what it will be of the future generations.
The plan for today it is going to another village nearby. Let’s see! For now, I just wish you all a Happy New Year! With lot’s of happiness, love, travels, and that all your wishes come true. And only, only if you are beating yourself too hard in any area of your life, than I also wish you a bit of laziness. I will pass that, thank you!

              …

The village in question is called Staro Zhelezare and it is famous because of the graffiti, all over the house’s walls, inspired by the work of an artistic Bulgarian-Polish couple Katarzyna and Ventzislav Piriankov. You can find a lot of celebrities, animals, politicians, musicians and famous paintings.
The second night I went to bed earlier while they all were still awake. I didn’t even think that we would leave early next morning, so most of them would still be sleeping, otherwise I would have said a proper goodbye.
Next morning, after cleaning up again and having some breakfast, we leave at 10 a.m. N., K. and M. are going back to Sofia so they drop me in the way to Sozopol, a small town in the coast, where they also have a holiday apartment. I will be staying there for 2 nights.
