12th to 30th of October, 2021.

I meet Gabriela and Tommy that same night. And I like them both immediately! Tommy is extremely cute and it is easy to love him. Sadly in the past he developed a hernia in his spine, so he have had 5 surgeries already. Actually, he is the reason why I am here. Gabi needs help to take him to his vet appointments and physiotherapy. I also help Gabi to give him healing baths, with a special type of mud and salts. He can walk and is super active but we must to take care of him and keep an eye on him all the time.
Gabi leaves in a perfect size apartment. We are sharing the leaving room to sleep but I am in the bed and she is on the floor because of Tommy. He cannot take big steps and definitely he must not climb up the bed. Which he does if she is sleeping on it. She had different jobs before but her last one was being a flight attendant on the U.A.E. I think it is super cool! For now, she is not working but planning on starting an online business with a friend.
Because my help with Tommy will not be a lot, at least not enough to full fill my 5 Workaway hours, I suggest I prepare our meals. Gabi says it is not necessary but I insist. After cooking a few meals, I am happy to know that she enjoy them so we keep up with this plan.
I go to explore Bucharest only one day. I actually didn’t see everything I wanted because I though I would come back another day. But in the end I was too lazy.
Bucharest is huge city. And even though it has some really nice buildings in the Old Town, like in Victoriei Street, it is not exactly lovely. The place I missed to visit (even though I passed in front, how stupid!) is a very old and famous restaurant called Caru’ cu bere. If you have the chance you should definitely visit. It is a historical building itself, so you can go inside just to take a look and photographs, you don’t need necessarily to order something.

Me and Gabi always have nice conversations. We have a lot in common so we are always wondering about different subjects and how we are different of most of people. We also laugh a lot. Even though she reminds me of one of my sisters (the one I had more conflicts with it), we still have a great time together. Even though she doesn’t like me humming any songs around. Laugh. Gabi also gives a lot of nice advice for my blog and for my future as a traveler and for after that. And she always has some delicious sweets around or keep buying nice Romanian treats, like the biscuit salami, apart of the lovely French Eclairs. Plus she loves coffee so we drink coffee a lot! And we are drinking wine almost every night.
I make my plan of going around Romania for about 8 days. The only difference will be that, because of the big number of bears they have in here, living in the woods and forests, I will not be camping, I will ask in local monasteries if I can spend the night there.
The night before I leave, it seems like Tommy knows I am leaving. We have such a party time and take lots of cool photographs.
On the day of my departure, it is raining. I am OK because I will take a metro and after a bus. Gabi even gave me two Metro cards with one trip in each, so I will not pay for it. But again, like in Ukraine, she calls a taxi to drive me out of town. Ah! She is so lovely! The taxi driver speaks a great English and we have a good conversation until he drops me out of the skirts of Bucharest. It is still raining.

P.S.: I discover that the founder of the international coffee brand Illy, Francesco Illy, was born in Romania, in Timisoara.
